Welcome to our website!  This site is about our furkids. Contributing to our love for animals, we also volunteer with several rescue organizations, so we encounter a lot of abused kitties and doggies that need a forever home. Many, but not all, of our furkids originally came from abusive situations.  We took some of them in as 'fosters' (intended to be with us only temporarily) but they found a place in our heart and home forever. Regardless where they are from, we love them unconditionally.  Each furkid is now either spayed or neutered in order to help curb the overpopulation of unwanted animals. Additionally, all are up-to-date with their vaccinations and are under the care of a wonderful Vet. Some are under the care of specialists and, several are on daily medications due to their particular medical needs.

Some of our furkids have problems: health, adjustment, socialization, or a combination of special considerations. Olivia cat, doesn't like other felines. Olivia came to us as a foster cat but has exhibited such antisocial and aggressive behaviors that we adopted her (she really adopted us) fearing someone may never accept her or might actually hurt, Olivia. We have a doggie, Shea, who loves our kitties, her ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters’ doggies here, but dislikes other dogs on the outside.  Shrimp dog, arrived on a flight from NC, and was very ill. He has a bad heart and is under the care of a cardiologist, an internist, as well as his ‘family doctor’ Vet. (Our Shrimpy passed on May 7, 2004 from a heart attack) So, as you can see, we have many different personalities. It is never boring here in our home. Something is always going on, getting knocked over, knocked down, chased, jumped on or at! Someone may be complaining (growling or hissing) while others (including the humans in the house--me, I am Fran "Mom" or my hubby, John "Dad") are trying to sleep. Their antics are very funny. They are all adorable, sweet, and loving--some in their own 'unique' way.

A couple of years ago we discovered Dog Agility with our furkids Bean, Haley and Buddy. Since then we have become hooked!  Please enjoy our agility pictures and forgive our brags, but we are sooooo proud of them!

Bottom Line, we are very blessed by our furkids. We have the time, room and the ability to care for them. They are each a special gift from the Lord and we feel it is a privilege, as well as a responsibility, to have them as an integral part of our family. Come on in...sit down....take your shoes off.....and visit for a while. Enjoy the changing photo albums as you, along with us, watch our furkids grow and develop loving relationships. Again, Welcome.

An Animal Shelter Story www.brightlion.com

A touching & well put together video by Robert Valentine

 Did you know?

Each day 10,000 humans are born in the U.S. - and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all of the animals. As a result, millions of healthy, loving cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies face early deaths as a form of animal control. Others are left to fend for themselves against automobiles, the elements, animals and cruel humans. What can you do to stop the suffering?

Spay and neuter your pets!

Work with SpayUSA and together we can make a difference.

Spay/Neuter Saves Lives!

SPAY/NEUTER SAVES LIVES!!!!!

THIS PICTURE IS TAKEN AT A SHELTER. THESE POOR DOGS AND CATS WERE PUT DOWN THAT DIDN'T GET ADOPTED.

IF SOMEONE HAD SPAY/NEUTER THEIR ANIMALS IN THE FIRST PLACE THEY NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN BORN TO END UP THIS WAY, DEAD IN THE TRASH!

WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR "PET" AT THE SHELTER MORE THAN LIKELY THIS IS THEIR FUTURE.

ITS NOT SOMEONE ELSE'S RESPONSIBLITY TO MAKE SURE YOUR DOG OR CAT WILL BE SAFE AND HAVE A HAPPY ENDING.

BEFORE YOU GO TO THE PET STORE AND ADD TO THE SUFFERING, PLEASE CHECK OUT YOUR LOCAL SHELTERS OR GO TO PETFINDER.COM, THE LINK ABOVE. THEN SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR FURKID.

WE CAN CHANGE THIS KIND OF SUFFERING JUST BY BEING RESONSIBLE "PET OWNER" AND SIMPLY HAVE THEM SPAY OR NEUTER. WE NEED TO STOP BEING SELFISH BY THINKING ANIMALS DON'T MATTER AND DISCARDING THEM BECAUSE IT GOT INCONVENIENT.

HOPEFULLY ONE DAY ABUSED CHILDREN AND ANIMALS WILL BE A THING IN THE PAST OR IN VERY, VERY SMALL NUMBERS, AND NOT AN EPIDEMIC LIKE IT IS TODAY.

“The public is served by ethical breeders, when they produce well-socialized pedigreed cats [dogs] that have been raised in loving homes, and when they educate and enforce that public to spay, neuter, and keep the cat indoors where both the cat and wildlife are made safe. The public, ethical breeders, and the cats [dogs] themselves, are harmed by the careless breeder, who breeds for profit, who breeds for giggles and grins, or who breeds out of neglect to spay or neuter a pet.” -- Kit Goodwin, 1999
